At the UN Climate Summit 2014, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced to establish ‘an energy efficiency facilitating hub for global action in Tokyo’. Based on this statement, the Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ) has made contributions to the energy efficiency initiatives of the Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) as its “Energy Efficiency Facilitating Hub” sharing energy efficiency technologies with partner organizations around the world.
ECCJ serves as the Energy Efficiency Facilitating Hub of SEforALL to help improve energy efficiency in the world by offering technical advice and assistance to cities, regions or countries to establish or implement energy efficiency policy and measures. It has been conducting capacity building and projects on energy efficiency with policy makers around the world for more than a decade.
In particular, the Energy Efficiency Facilitating Hub works to promote energy conservation and efficiency through providing a wealth of information concerning energy efficiency, assisting in energy-related projects in Japan and developing countries, and enhancing cooperation in the implementation.
